Frequently Asked Insurance Questions

Will my insurance cover therapy if you are considered “in-network” with their panel?

Insurance plans vary and benefits are plan-specific, as such, it is the client’s responsibility to know about their insurance plan benefits and whether “speech/language” therapy is a covered benefit of the plan. Some plans have similar coverage for “out of network” and “in-network” benefits. As a courtesy, Dynamic Speech & Language Therapy will contact your insurance plan to verify speech therapy benefits; confirm if there is a visit limitation or prior authorization required for services, and to confirm if you will owe a deductible/coinsurance or a copayment for our services. We will provide you with a detailed breakdown of the information we’ve received.

Will my insurance cover therapy if you are considered “out of network” with their panel?

Dynamic Speech & Language Therapy can provide clients with an “invoice/superbill” which will contain all visit information, CPT codes, diagnosis, detailed costs, etc. You will then submit this document to your insurance company for you to seek reimbursement. If a client chooses to go this route, payment in full will be required at time of service. It will be the client’s responsibility to work with their insurance company to predetermine if they accept “invoice/superbills” for speech/language services, and to secure reimbursement for the services provided. Dynamic Speech & Language Therapy does not “guarantee” reimbursement.

What forms of payment does Dynamic Speech & Language Therapy accept?

We currently accept: check, credit, and/or debit cards (Visa, Discover, AMEX, MasterCard, JCB, DinersClub), FSA/HSA for therapy services. Payment can be made via the patient portal link and all clients are required to have a copy of their photo ID and a credit card on file and set to autopay at time of service. Please adhere to our payment policy that was signed as part of the mandatory intake packet for all new clients. If you would like an additional copy of this document, please let the office know.

What is the “No Surprises Act and Good Faith Estimates?

Beginning January 1, 2022, if you’re uninsured, opt for private pay, or are choosing to access “out of network” benefits, Dynamic Speech & Language Therapy must provide you with an estimate of the expected charges before you receive an item or service. This is called a good faith estimate (GFE). This document will include all the expected charges associated with the items as part of your therapy program. For more information, please visit the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) website at www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Attendance and participation in therapy along with transparent communication is essential to our therapeutic success. All cancellations must be submitted 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment either via phone and/or email. *A fee of $75 may be assessed if the cancellations occur within the 24-hour window. This fee will be billed directly to the client and not their health insurance company, as medical insurance does not provide coverage for missed sessions. This fee must be paid prior to scheduling your next session. While Mrs. Christy Bisconer, DBA “Dynamic Speech & Language Therapy” LLC understands that illnesses, inclement weather, and emergencies occur, we respectfully request that you avoid frequent cancellations or “no shows”. Please adhere to our attendance / cancellation policy regarding providing our office with advance notification for any cancellations found here. The attendance/cancellation policy was signed as part of the mandatory intake packet for all new clients. If you would like an additional copy of this document, please let the office know.

What if I don’t have insurance coverage, can I utilize private pay?

Yes! Private pay allows Dynamic Speech & Language Therapy and their clients to dictate what services they get, not the insurance companies! Many times, insurance companies will not cover certain therapies, or will limit the frequency and number of visits, regardless of what is best for client needs. Our office will provide you with an invoice containing all visit information, CPT codes, diagnosis, detailed costs, etc. Often times, clients submit this invoice to their insurance companies for reimbursement. If a client chooses to go this route, payment in full will be required at time of service. It is also solely the client’s responsibility to check with their insurance company for verification of coverage. Private pay has benefits such as faster progress, and shorter overall therapy times.
