What are “Talk Tools”? Talk Tools focuses on Oral-Placement Therapy techniques, training, and tools. Oral placement therapy incorporates a combination of auditory stimulation, visual stimulation, and tactile/touch stimulation to the mouth to improve speech sound production. The talk tools approach can be used with a wide range of clients and supports working toward accurate motor skills in the articulators such as jaw stabilization, adequate lip closure, and tongue elevation and anchoring.
Christy completed “We Practice What We Teach: Sensory-Oral-Motor Series” through Talk Tools Training in June of 2021. This training focused on the integration of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy and Oral Motor Therapy. Christy uses these techniques to provide oral placement cues for a variety of her clients.
